CISA Certified Information Systems Auditor Inside Information

A minimum of five years work experience in auditing, controlling or securing professional information systems (as described in the subject areas) is required for CISA certification, but of course did not before the workout!

Replacement and waiver of that experience is given as follows:

• a maximum of one year of information systems experience OR one year of financial/operational audit experience can substitute for one year of experience in auditing, controlling or securing information systems
• 60 to 120 completed university hours (the equivalent of a Bachelor's degree) can substitute for one or two years of experience in auditing, controlling or securing information systems
• two years as a full-time lecturer in university, in a related field (e.g. computer science, accounting, information systems auditing) can substitute for one year of experience in information systems auditing, controlling or securing

Experience must be gained within a period of 10 years prior to the date of application for certification or within five from the date of initial pass the exam. Re-take and pass the exam is required if the application for certification is not made within five years of passing the exam. All experience will be independently verified with the employers.
