When you are familiar with Lean Management, you know that there is a toolbox full of Lean techniques. Do you encounter in practice that these techniques are not applied sustainably in your team and that they do not yet deliver what you expect? Then the Lean Masterclass is for you!

Lean Masterclass description

Every organization can apply the Lean techniques that you will learn about during the Lean Masterclass and thereby recognize waste in its processes, create value streams and work with improvement boards. Does the organization therefore have a Lean Management System? Is there really a question of successful sustainable continuous improvement? Unfortunately all too often not. How did that happen?

Often the focus is on applying the techniques and the results such as, for example, less waste in the process, shorter lead times, higher customer satisfaction, etc. The success of Lean does not lie in applying the techniques, but in the invisible way in which they are used. Ultimately, it's about creating a culture in which employees can be successful. In a Lean organization, every employee is able to recognize and solve problems themselves. How is a Lean Management System established? How do you ensure that employees can develop as improvers when applying Lean? The difference is not made with the use of the techniques, but with how the employees use the techniques. This Masterclass focuses on learning to see the invisible behavior and the coaching method associated with the techniques, in which two techniques will be central: Kata and Hoshin Kanri.

Topics Lean Masterclass

  • Kata: proven routines of both the improver and the improvement coach to learn to continuously improve. Using a simulation, the difference between the coach and the improver is made visible. You will have the opportunity to experiment with both roles.
  • Hoshin Kanri: Translating the true North of the organization into daily objectives, so that every employee can be successful in his work. The operation will be explained on the basis of a case study and discussion.
  • Lean culture: the essence of Lean culture is explained. This is made clear by discussing the difference between traditional organizations and Lean organizations. A view from the top to the workplace and back.
  • Lean Leadership: when an organization has developed Lean Leaders, it suddenly becomes apparent that the traditional view of change management can be discarded. An approach to how Lean makes change pleasant and meaningful.

Planning Lean Masterclass

Lean Masterclass day 1

  • Short introduction to Lean in which Lean principles and principles are discussed interactively.
    • Lean principles
    • Muda-mura-muri
    • Jidoka and Just-in-time
    • ...
  • Toyota Kata. The technique and philosophy are explained and experienced by means of a simulation. Both the improvement kata and the coaching kata are practiced.
  • On the basis of a case study, this technique and the effect of the way of asking questions to arrive at causes and solutions are discussed in more detail.
  • Learning to see & standards. The starting point to get improvements going is 'Learn to see'. Employees have to go see it for themselves. It also discusses why change can be difficult and how standards can help.

Lean Masterclass day 2

  • Policy Deployment . The circle of Policy Deployment is explained and a start is made with the implementation on the basis of own practice
  • Determine your True North yourself and the power of storytelling is central in this block.
  • KPIs. what is a good KPI, how do you determine it? In line with Policy Deployment, good KPIs are being worked on.
  • Improvement Ideas & Improvement Board. On the basis of a case study, we work with improvement boards and discuss the effect of implementing improvement ideas with the use of boards as a technique.
  • Why does this lag behind in organizations and how can you take a step to get this started as part of daily work.
  • Quality-in-to-process. What does QiP mean and how is it handled in Japan (Toyota).
  • Lean culture. Techniques are practical, but culture is essential for Lean to have a chance of success explained.

Lean Masterclass certification

The participants receive a certificate of participation, you can also obtain a Yellow Belt exam with us and this is officially offered via peoplecert.

Lean Masterclass Incompany

If you register your company for an in-company Lean Masterclass via D-ICT Solutions, you can always have one of our trainers/consultants visit you (or virtually) for a Lean implementation session. During this afternoon or morning you will receive advice with regard to optimizing or setting up Lean within your organization by a certified Black Belt.
